BluePippin Size Selection

The BluePippin is a powerful automated DNA size selection system to collect DNA fragments up to 50 kb or size select proteins. It facilitates library construction for the most popular NGS platforms and is a fast and highly accurate and reproducible option over traditional gel extractions. The BluePippin works by pulsed-field electrophoresis to separates and extracts DNA fragments according to software input size ranges.

Submitting Your Order

  1. Contact genomics@nd.edu to discuss project goals and about available kits options.

  2. Review the Sample Preparation Guidelines for preparing tubes.

  3. Schedule a sample drop off time when contacting the GBCF. 

Viewing Your Results

After service completion, the size-selected sample is returned in a sterile 1.7mL microcentrifuge tube and documentation of parameters is provided.

For an additional fee, the GBCF can assess the size distribution using the Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer and the sample concentration by Qubit Quantification. For additional services, please contact the Facility.
